Where were you born? Denver, CO
When's your birthday? And so how old does that make you now? March
28th, 1984 I am 25
How long have you been riding? I have been competing pro since about
1998.
How did you get involved in the sport? My brother Bart is the person
who really got me inspired to start wakeboarding. He coached me and
helped me to learn really quickly and with my gymnastics backround
I was flipping within my first week. From there it is all history,
I haven’t stopped riding since I picked up the board.
What do you like about your "job"? I love that with wakeboarding
you always need another person to be in the boat with you so you
can't ever do it by yourself. It is a very social sport.
What is your favorite thing to do that has nothing to do
with wakeboarding? Hmmm, I really like surfing, camping, and laying out. I also love
spending time with my family.
What is your favorite food? pizza is up there as well as mexican
food. I love Mexican.
Favorite movie? right now... I would have to say Twilight. (i know
me and every 13 year old in America) :)
If you could be an animal what would you be? And why? I
think I would want to be a dog... not just any dog, but a pampered
dog. All they do is eat, sleep and play.
Have you ever fell asleep in church? Nope
Favorite ice cream? Birthday cake, or cookie's and cream
Okay let’s get a little more serious… How is being a Christian
changed your life in relation to your sport? It has made me put everything
in perspective. I think if I wasn't a Christian it would be easy
to let things get me down or even become obsessive, but with God
I know that I have a higher purpose in life than just my job.
Do you ever get ridiculed for making a stand for Christ? Not really,
I think since I have made a stand for Christ most people now respect
that.
What is one your favorite verses in the Bible? One of my favorite
verses is found in Isaiah 53. It talks about Jesus' life here on
earth and the coolest part is it was written way before Jesus ever
came to earth. Like hundreds of years before.
Who has made the biggest impact on your spiritual life? I would say
my dad was a huge impact growing up and even now, as well as Kevin,
my husband. They both have taught me a lot and challenge me all of
the time.
What do you think is the biggest turn off about Christians
to non-believers? How can you change this? That we look like the world even if we claim
to be something else (hypocrite). We have to do what the Bible says
and be "set apart". We have to remember that people are always watching
you especially when we say we are Christians. It is a big responsibility.
If you could go back in time and change one thing, what would
you do different and why? I wish I would have been more faithful when
I went through a tough trial in my life. Sometimes I was totally
surrendered to God and other times I couldn't stop complaining. I
just know that if I would have had a better attitude I would have
learned so much more that God had for me.
What advice do you have for us for sharing your faith with
a stranger? That is a hard thing,
I think it is important to remember to talk about the change that
happened to myself personally. Not everyone believes that there is
a God or that the Bible is true or that Jesus died on the cross,
but a person cannot refute an experience that happened to me. So
don’t be afraid to share your story.
If you died today would you leave this world with a any
regrets? Yes, I think I would. I feel like there are so many people out there
who have not heard about Jesus and I want to tell them about Him,
before I leave this earth.
How do you think we can "live in the world, but not be of
the world", especially with what you do? It is not easy, but I think it takes
loving people and accepting them for who they are, not for what they
do. So I think it is good to have friends that aren't believers,
but we have to make sure that they don’t pull us down and that we
can lift them up, which can be hard.
